My View

My name is Ron Means.  I am an independent supporter of Barack Obama for President who believes in putting some of my money where my mouth is. I am Independent and not affiliated with any political action committees.

An Independent voter since 1984 I always vote my conscious and pick the best candidate that I feel will represent the ideals and convictions I hold near and dear.

On President George W Bush:
I voted for Bush for President of the United States.  Truthfully I met him a couple of times before he was even the Governor of Texas and liked him instantly and since I never met Gore or Kerry... Just do the math,,, Of course I voted for someone I knew over people I didn't.  I will usually support people I know over people I have never met. Usually.

Now in hindsight I regret the last two votes but at least I can admit the RARE times I make mistakes.  I have no doubt that as a man President Bush is a wonderful person but I am sorry for his failures and miscues  and hope he understands that he has made them because if he does not see them as mistakes, he's going to allow them to replicate and duplicate.
I Acknowledge My Mistakes.

On Presidential Candidate Barack H Obama:

Advertising MY ads for Obama and paying for their postings on my own is just my way of saying that I am proud to support someone who champions clean politics and is honest enough to admit his mistakes in choosing associates as I also have done.  Now you all (That's a Texas term) need to just "Let It Go" when trying to talk about Obama's former associates, OK?

I admitted that I was for Bush and realize that I was wrong at the same time.  Obama admitted that some of his friends were not Wright after all and that we need to have a discussion on the racial perspectives not only IN America but OF America.  So many things make no sense to me.  Let's uplift God then.  We all have our own style... don't we?

I agree, I agree, I agree.

We are a huge melting pot of people of all races and it is really sad that the only time I can remember that we were together as a nation with a common purpose was on September 12, 2001.  Something terrible had to happen which shook the foundations of the country for us to realize that we were all in this together... and then we just as quickly forgot that we were ALL in this thing together and started fighting each other again, within.  Do we love to fight and hate each other even as others want to harm us from the outside or what?  This makes no sense to me.

On top of the status quo, I find it so disheartening that the national news media (like FOX and CNN in particular) constantly were touting racial differences and purported BLUE-COLLAR prejudices as an issue in choosing a leader for all of us.  I do not understand why as enlightened and educated leaders in their fields, the news pundits don't SHAME the ignorant into becoming more educated, into realizing that one person is saying the wrong things and one person is saying the right things and being for the right person who is saying and doing the right things is the right thing to do.  Don't we all want what's best for the country?

So what if the guy who is coming to save you is BLACK if your house is on fire and you are on the roof?  Are you going to accept certain death or let him save you?

That’s the question and there’s only one answer.

Take The High Road.

I Met BOTH these People and...
I Liked Them At The Time

A former associate introduced me to the future Governor and now President and I just recently realized the error in my judgement was 2-fold.  My Bad, I thought the problem was with the asscociate...

What does the fact that I liked both Bush and Clinton enough to contribute to them say about me NOW?  What does it say about me even though I also contributed to Obama and vociferously want Obama to win because he has the best hope of not only saying the right things but of bringing them to fruition?

It means I made a thoughtful decision with an open mind.

I like to think that I woke up.  What's YOUR excuse if you just talk and do nothing?

It's Almost Time For Some Football: Let's try our best to win, wear them down, play a good game and be good sports IF we lose.  Let's be good sports if we win too.
